Kristen and Shane’s wedding was my first one of the year and I could not have picked a better way to kick off my 2021 wedding season. I first met Kristen when she sent me a DM on Instagram. her message said, “I am in love with your work and your cute personality”. She went on to talk about her wedding plans, and I just KNEW that I wanted to shoot her wedding. During our zoom call, Kristen said she didn’t get to see Shane much because he was very busy building their home, and she couldn’t wait to move in after their wedding.
Kristen said they wanted to do a first look the day before their wedding. We picked a venue, but as the day grew closer the weather was not in our favor. Heavy rain was in the forecast so the search for a new venue began. A friend recommended Morning Glory Farm because of the beautiful indoor space. Big windows and white walls are a photographer’s dream, and Morning Glory’s Carriage house was just that, dreamy!
Fortunately the rain held off, so Kristen and Shane did their first look outdoors. It was a beautiful moment and you could hear Shane going on about how beautiful Kristen looked! While I was chatting with Shane I mentioned that I had been born in Brazil. You can imagine my surprise when he started to speak to me in Portuguese! If that wasn’t wild enough, he said he spent two years in Salvador…my hometown! Talk about a small world!
A few moments later the clouds parted and we were blessed with the most beautiful golden hour light. Not only was I giddy, but Kristen’s mom started to get excited too! Their wedding day was equally beautiful! Kristen and Shane were surrounded by their family and friends as they began their first moments together as husband and wife. The evening was full of laughter and dancing and they made me feel like I was part of their family.
Thank you Kristen and Shane for letting me be a part of your wedding! I am so thankful for you both and can not wait to see how God blesses your life!
