Ciara and Drew’s Wedding at Legacy Stables in Winston Salem is one that I won’t soon forget. Every wedding has special moments that really stay with me, and this one had me in tears. Ciara knew she wanted to have a first look with her dad, what she didn’t know is that HE had planned to surprise her by showing up in his military dress blues. The tenderness between Ciara and her dad had me wiping away tears.

Drew plays hockey, and Ciara first met him when she tagged along with friend to a hockey game Drew was in. They met up for drinks after, and the rest is history! They share a love for yummy dishes, and are self proclaimed foodies.

The day started at an amazing Airbnb where hair and makeup was done and the girls got ready. Ciara’s flowers were the prettiest shades of white and blue, and she did them herself! When I saw Ciara’s dress and veil I was completely in awe. She wanted it to be a surprise when Drew saw her come down the aisle. Ciara’s romantic veil is the longest I have ever photographed, it was stunning, and gave all her portraits a classic timeless feel.

We were a little concerned about the weather, since thunderstorms were in the forecast for the day, but after arriving at The Legacy House at Legacy Stables, we were greeted with the most GLORIOUS temperatures and not a rain cloud in sight.

The perfect weather set the mood for the ceremony, which Ciara and Drew did a Celtic hand fasting. Ciara’s brother made the cord used for the ceremony, making it an even sweeter part of their day.

After the I do’s , we snuck over to the field in front of the house for some husband and wife portraits, and bridal party photos. After an incredible meal, everyone was ready to party. The dance floor was hopping all night long. Every song made you want to get up and celebrate.

Ciara and Drew, I am so happy that I got to be a part of your day. Both of your families made me feel so welcomed. Thank you a million times over for being so incredible. I hope your new life together is even more wonderful than you hope it will be. Cheers to many many more years as Mr. & Mrs. !
