This maternity session was never supposed to happen! Kelci is one of my best friends, and when she told me she was pregnant I was so excited but quickly saddened when I remembered she lived over 500 miles away. For weeks leading up to Kelci’s shower we talked about how sad we were that I couldn’t come to her shower. I even got on instagram and pretended to be prepping for a wedding for that weekend lol But with the help Kelci’s mom, I was able to hop in the car with one of my friends Lauren, who also happened to be Kelci’s cousin, and we drove all night to surprise Kelci!

I was so happy to spend the weekend with Kelci, and meet her husband Jake for the first time! It was such a special moment for me because Kelci was by my side as I went into labor with my first baby, nine years ago; so seeing that it was her turn to be a first time mama brought up so many happy feelings!

Kelci’s mom put together the most beautiful Hawaiian themed shower at The Morgan House in Dublin. Everything was perfect, from the food to the decor, so much love was poured out for Kelci and Jake! After the shower I pulled them outside for their maternity photos, and you will NOT BELIEVE what showed up during our session….baby deer! It was like a storybook moment and I can’t wait for you to see all the beautiful portraits !
