The day is finally here! You have been planning your wedding since the moment you got engaged. From your dream dress to your color scheme, you worked hard to make everything perfect, and you want equally beautiful photos to show for it!
As a wedding photographer, my day starts with your details, and a big part of those photos incorporates your invitation! It is the introduction to your day, and adding a few of these elements can elevate the whole feel of your final images.
Wax Seals
Wax seals are elegant and can instantly take an invitation or envelope from simple to stunning! If you are putting together your invitations yourself, you can order wax seals ready-made with self-adhesive backs or order a wax seal kit and make them yourself. You can customize your wax seals and stamps to feature your monogram, initials, wedding date, or even your pet! One of my favorite online shops for all your wax seal needs is Artisaire. Etsy is another great place to shop!
Ribbon
Adding ribbon to your detail photos is one of my favorite ways to add texture and movement to an invitation suite! Choose ribbons in colors that coordinate with your wedding day and invitation colors. Another plus is they look AMAZING tied around bouquets! Hands down, my favorite ribbon shop on Etsy is Anastasia Marie Shop!
Envelope Liners
“It’s all in the details,” and while liners are not essential, they add a wow factor to your envelopes. Liners usually feature a color, print, or pattern prevalent throughout the wedding and help tie in all the elements of your details.
Fresh Florals
If you want to make the most significant impact in your photos, fresh florals are the way to go! Flowers are my favorite styling element to work with and create a sense of cohesiveness in your images. Ask your florist to leave a few stems out for your photographer to use for your photos. These flowers, reserved for pictures, will likely be trimmed.
Ring Box
A ring box not only keeps your bands safe until you say “I do,” your photographer can use it to hold your rings when they are getting photographed. You can personalize your ring box with custom colors and engraving like wax seals. You can purchase ring boxes from many Etsy shops like Flowers for Lola or the famous Mrs. Box.
Calligraphy
Calligraphy is an art that has been around for thousands of years and is still an elegant font today. It looks timeless on invitations, envelopes, menus, escort cards, and any surface you want personalized.
Make it your own
You can choose as many elements as you’d like incorporated into your wedding invitation photos! It’s your day, and you want your images to be a representation of you!
