I have been so excited to share Taryn and Nate’s Atalaya Castle engagement session and the story behind how it happened. When Taryn first reached out about her wedding in North Myrtle Beach at The Venue at White Oaks Farm, I knew it would be beautiful. We set up a zoom call, and the 30 min call turned into a 1.5-hour chat about how Nate proposed, their love for the Lord, their wedding plans, and how excited they were to plan their engagement session.
Atalaya Castle Destination Engagment Session
Since they both currently live in Florida, we were planning to do a session whenever they came home to visit family in NC. Meanwhile, life had been hectic, and I had told my husband that our family needed a break, so I booked a condo in North Myrtle for the first weekend in June, the only Saturday I didn’t have a wedding. Taryn texts me that she will be heading to Charlotte to visit family after she and Nate toured their venue the same day our family would be in North Myrtle! We had to make it happen!
The week of the session, the forecast showed thunderstorms with heavy rain. Taryn and I texted each over with weather updates, which looked worse each time. We decided to head to the Castle and sit in the car, hoping for a tiny break in the rain. The sky was black, and the rain was pouring sideways, but we saw the slightest little bit of light up ahead.
Less than a mile from our destination, the sky was clear, and the gorgeous light flooded in just in time for their session. Since the forecast showed heavy thunderstorms, most visitors had left, so we got the Castle and beach to ourselves!
These two smiled, snuggled, brought the heat, and splashed in the waves to create some of my favorite engagement sessions. You can tell by their photos that they love to have fun, which means their wedding next March will be AMAZING!
